10 Life-changing Things to Do Every Day

We are now living in an age when everything moves so quickly. Ordinary human interactions are quantified and manipulated. Transactions happen very frequently, not giving us enough time to think about our decisions. You and I are living in a fast-paced world; taking a break is considered selfish and lazy. We’re discouraged from doing anything remotely related to relaxing and spending the day with our family. There’s nothing wrong with growing and constantly adapting to the works of the world, but hopefully, we won’t get lost in the process.

I filled my mind with optimism and positive energy from those who testified their drastic life change. Instead of talking myself out of my plans, I built my confidence with those who were once in my place but now have constructed an empire out of a dream. Not a single insult or criticism can cease you from having higher goals. It’s so important that you commit to improving yourself, so you won’t be vulnerable to the opinions of others. Doing these small, life-changing things daily will not only fortify your confidence but most importantly, change your life for the best.

10 SIMPLE THINGS TO DO EVERY DAY THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE:

START AND END YOUR DAY WITH A PRAYER

It’s so important to embrace the day with an acknowledgment of God’s grace. The moment you wake up, say a little prayer, and thank Him for giving you another day. A sincere prayer doesn’t only set your mood for the day but also makes you approach your plans with integrity. Starting and ending your day with prayer has a massive impact on the way you relate to others and your work. It keeps you grounded and more mindful of your words and actions.

Also, you will more likely make the smart and right decisions because you see everything in your life as blessings and you wouldn’t want to waste it. You’ll be more grateful and accepting of unexpected circumstances because you put your trust and faith in the Lord. You won’t see the future as something to be feared but something to be faced with bravery. You know you’re not alone and you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

SHOW GRATITUDE

Never spend a day without thanking those who helped you, most especially our Father above. Giving thanks not only shows how much you appreciate somebody for lending you a hand, but it’s also a form of humility to manifest that you can’t do everything on your own. Showing your gratitude to your family or your friends by returning the favor or by celebrating your success with them is a fantastic way to spread positive energy. Showing gratitude through words, deeds, and gifts can create a culture of passing on the kindness and taking compliments you deserve.

ASK FOR FORGIVENESS

Don’t wait for the sky to fall before your pride does. So many petty, stupid fights sever family ties, and prolonging it with your ego isn’t going to do good to anyone. Your loved ones are the most important people in your life and you should treasure every single one of them. Nothing should matter more than them. Every day is an opportunity to swallow your pride and mend broken relationships.

Don’t waste your time dwelling on words thrown that neither of you meant. Don’t waste any more of your time going back to the mistakes and failures because there’s nothing you can do about them anymore but to learn from them. If you’re the one who needs to ask forgiveness, do it wholeheartedly and acknowledge the setback you caused with all humility. Be the one to make the first move and don’t do it only for the sake of being able to sleep at night but because you want to make peace with someone. You want to move on without resentment and look at that someone straight in the eye with brightness.

DO SOMETHING GENEROUS TO SOMEONE

It’s a different kind of warmth you feel after you see someone’s face light up because of what you did for him/her. All your success means nothing if you can’t give back to those who helped you from getting there. Whether it’s a family member, an office mate, or a stranger, make it a habit to show kindness to them in the best way you can.

Improve the goodness in your heart by showing it to those around you. Generosity is the best measurement of your wealth. The more you give someone, there’s something more that will come to you than good karma. When your nephew is struggling with his homework, spare a few minutes or an hour to inspire and help him finish. When your neighbor needs financial help because his house got destroyed by fire, you can give a small amount of money, a few clothes and food, and even let him sleep in your house for the night or keep him comfortable in an inn or a hotel.

MEDITATE

Some people think they don’t need to meditate but they’re wrong. Everyone needs to take a break to relax his mind and body from overwhelming deadlines and demands. You need to spare a few minutes of your time to think about your progress and if you’re heading in the right direction. Also, you need to improve your concentration span and critical thinking.

Don’t make impulsive decisions just because you think the time is moving so fast and you need to keep up. Be wary about the risks and consequences that come with that decision and see if it suits your lifestyle. Approach a problem right away and allow it to hurt you until it no longer feels anything but relief. Restore your confidence in yourself and trust in your judgment. You wouldn’t make it to where you are now if you’re not good enough to continue on this journey. Meditation not only lowers your stress level but also reconnects you with your soul. It helps you see life from a different, fresh perspective that will benefit you at the end of the day.

EXECUTE YOUR PLANS

The goals you’ve set at the beginning of the month won’t mean anything if you won’t execute them every single day. Whether it’s doing errands or writing a chapter every day or even buying groceries for the entire month, you must stick to your time and schedule because it’s the only way you’ll feel in control of your decisions. Getting a few important things done is better than getting all the useless things done. Execution is a common action done by the doers of the earth while the watchers simply whine and hope they could be as brave as the them. Every day of your life will transform into a life-changing moment when you conquer every opportunity there is to take action, in whatever form it may be.

TALK TO YOUR KIDS/NIECES AND NEPHEWS

During the not so good days, you can always refresh your day by talking to kids. Pressing the pause button from talking about problems and adulting pressures is necessary. Reliving the child in you can help you appreciate the small things because that’s what you used to have when you were a child. It makes you realize the simple dreams you had, way back before all the responsibilities kicked in.

You cherish those times and make the most of your time now. Playing games with your nieces and nephews will keep you in a good mood (unless they don’t) and can help you get the problems off your mind. You can treat them with ice cream or a box of pizza and ask them how their day has been. You can also give them a couple of pieces of advice and hopefully follow one of your advice.

EXERCISE

If you’re not a physical or a sporty type of person, then you don’t have to get into an extreme workout routine right away. You don’t have to follow whatever you see on the Internet without considering your body type, health condition, and your physical limits. You can do something as simple as taking a walk around your house or outdoors for 30 minutes.

Regular exercise gives you many benefits, and one of them is boosting your immune system and avoiding getting ill. You need a healthy body to endure all the mental and social pressure in the world. It gives you more control over your body because you’re particular with what you eat, drink, and do as a lifestyle.

EMBRACE YOUR FEARS

You can’t live inside your shell for the rest of your life. There’s no way for you to grow if you don’t take risks, no matter how small they may be. You have to toughen up and experience misery once in a while so you’ll know how raw and hard it is to grow. You shouldn’t allow yourself to get used to feeling safe and complacent all the time because that’s not how life works.

People complicate something and sometimes we always get in the middle of all the chaos. It’s better to be prepared and be self-aware of the monsters around us than to be naïve and manipulated. No successful man or woman has become successful without any fears. He/she has overcome every single one of those fears because he/she wants to soar over the horizons, and you should too.

FUEL YOUR MIND WITH POSITIVE ENERGY

Years ago, I used to be okay with wasting a couple of hours surfing through the net and wishing I could exchange lives with rich Youtubers on the platform. I would stay up late doing nothing but hoping I could start taking charge of my life by doing something I was passionate about every day. Way back, I didn’t want to live an idle, safe life anymore. I’ve always considered myself (and so have my friends) a risk-taker because I wasn’t afraid of making mistakes but somehow I couldn’t push myself to step out of my safe bubble, until one day, something inside me snapped.

I stopped watching daily vlogs from those Youtubers and stopped searching for other undiscovered ones, and instead, I began looking for videos that could help me get out of a rut. I looked for a meaningful video that could help me change my life for the better. So I started searching for motivation videos and listening to interviews with successful entrepreneurs. I loved learning about their humble beginnings and the process they underwent towards becoming what they are now. I found myself hungry for inspiration and that push to finally brave myself against the uncertainty of life.

This tactic has been very helpful to me since I started writing the first draft of my novel. This is so essential for developing an effective and adjusting mindset because motivation can come and go, so you need a constant source to help stabilize your drive. If you value and protect your esteem every day, you’ll be unstoppable.

CONCLUSION:

Your life is not your own, and how long it’s going to last is beyond your control. What we can do is to make sure we can delay meeting death as much as we can. Most people take for granted how much a single day can impact the rest of your life, and that’s why they are more inclined to fail and lose their way.

Doing consistent small actions will help you achieve success in the long run, no matter how long it will take. Sometimes we overlook the simplest, littlest things because we’re too focused on doing the gigantic, visible actions to show off to other people. We become so obsessed with polishing our image, forgetting to toughen it up on the inside.
