Blogging helped me explore my individuality. The lifestyle niche is one of the broadest niches in the blogging industry and as a lifestyle blogger myself, I need to find creative ways to set my blog apart from everyone else’s. This is where my individuality comes into place in the content I write. I can stand out in the lifestyle niche by using my vulnerability as a trademark of my blog. People are more likely to come back to my blog when they see me as a friend and not just some random writer on the internet.
Blogging reminds me of my place in this world. Every blog post I put out feels so rewarding. In my tiny corner space on the internet, my blog represents my minute contribution to the world. Through my personal stories, whoever reads my posts can connect to someone and relate to them.
Nevertheless, this pandemic broke us so we may be transformed. Little did we know, we were changing for the better albeit slowly. Even in the harshest conditions, there is a comforting prospect waiting for you to notice it. At first, I thought everything was going south and there’s no point to reach my dreams at all, but I was wrong. I was too naïve to realize that this tragedy is a painful yet necessary encounter to clear the obstructions along the way. It had to happen so I could gain insights from this experience that I wouldn’t have gotten elsewhere. It reminded me that this life is transient, so I must make the most of this borrowed time.
When writing a novel, the hardest part of the process as an amateur writer is undoubtedly the writing of drafts. It’s already hard enough to allow your story to come to life, but the people’s unrealistic assumptions about what a draft should look like make it even harder. Here are some of the wildest assumptions about first drafts:
A draft should contain the proper structure and plot.
A draft should be perfectly written.
A draft should have the right grammar, spelling, verb tense, etc.
Good drafts do not need any revisions.
Successful and experienced authors write first drafts as perfect as the final revision.
According to my orthopedist, the best exercise or physical therapy for scoliosis is swimming. Physical, strenuous activities that involve bending your back like weightlifting and sit-ups are NOT ALLOWED. He also recommended a therapy exercise where I would stretch my back for 10 minutes on each side on my bedpost every night. If you’re planning to write your book and push through with it, you’re subjecting yourself to vulnerability against forces beyond your control. Contrary to popular belief, writing a book is not easy. It isn’t some side hustle that you can opt to do on your free time and guarantee a best-selling book. Frustrated, you’re going to suffer late nights squeezing your head about organizing your plot or finishing a chapter you took so long to conceptualize. You’re going to encounter several dilemmas and suffer an existential crisis more usually now. You’re going to face the ceiling convincing yourself how this is all a bad idea and you should just give up.
